A family-owned debt collection company, Account Resolution Team has been in business since 1962. After starting his career at a collection desk in the sales industry, Harold Nichols decided to establish his own tri-county collection agency in Morristown, TN. Back then, Nichols sometimes allowed rural clients to pay him with farm-fresh eggs or low, weekly cash payments.
Much has changed since those early days. In 2015, the company – formerly known as Tri-County Collection Agency (TCCA INC) and its subsidiary Credit Bureau of East Tennessee – was renamed Account Resolution Team Inc. to reflect its broader mission: to resolve accounts efficiently and help businesses run more smoothly.
Then again, many things have remained the same. Eventually, Nichols passed the business on to his son, Joey Nichols, and daughter, Lisa Sawyer, who grew up counting checks in their father’s office for fun. Today, Joey Nichols spearheads the team as Chief Operating Officer (COO), while his sister, Lisa, helps oversee the company’s daily operations.
Our team showcases a rainbow of personalities and professional backgrounds. Some of our employees have been with the company for more than a decade, amounting to more than 70 years of collaborative experience.
Account Resolution Team is a member of the American Collectors Association (ACA), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
